Currently 43 airlines use the airport, serving 80 US cities and 28 international destinations. Over 20 million passengers passed through the airport in 2000. Passenger use of the airport has been steadily increasing during recent years. In 2000, 19.6 million people passed through BWI, an increase of 12.4% on 1999 figures.
