PASSPORTS: Passport valid for at least one month after date of return required by all.

VISAS: Required by all except nationals of CIS countries (except nationals of Turkementistan who do require visas).

Types of visa and cost: Tourist, Business and Private: £27 (single-entry); £54 (double-entry); £167 (multiple-entry). Express visas: £35 (single-entry) or £230 (multiple-entry). Transit: £17. Travellers with Transit visas are allowed a maximum of 72 hours to transit provided they are in possession of confirmed onward travel documentation and valid entry requirement for the onward destination.

Application requirements: (a) Completed application form. (b) Two recent passport-size photos. (c) Valid passport. (d) For Tourist visa, a letter of invitation from a travel agency in Azerbaijan or evidence of confirmed hotel reservation in Baku. (e) For Private visa, a letter of invitation, processed through the Ministry of the Interior, from a person resident in Azerbaijan. (f) For Business visa, an invitation from the organisation, department or institution to be visited in Azerbaijan or an introductory company letter indicating purpose of planned business activity. (g) Fee.

Note: Applications may be sent in by post, but must be collected from the Embassy either by the applicant or by a third party in possession of a letter of authorisation signed by the applicant.

Working days required: Three to four days for single-entry, five to seven days for multiple-entry and 48 hours for express visas.
