The better hotels have air conditioning and swimming pools. Pre-booking is essential, ideally several weeks in advance. Outside Bangui, accommodation of any standard is very difficult to find, although guest-houses exist in smaller towns, principally Bangassou, Bambari and Bossangoa. CAMPING AND CARAVANNING: Camping is available at the Centre d’Accueil des Touristes at ‘Kilomètre Cinq’. Most of the country is unpopulated or traversed by nomadic herdsmen, and there are few organised facilities for camping and caravanning.
