Conferences/Conventions: Major convention centres in Darwin are The Beaufort Hotel, Darwin Performing Arts Centre, MGM Grand, Marrara International Indoor Sports Stadium and the Plaza Darwin. The Alice Springs Convention Centre opened in March 2002. It boasts seven large function suites, that have a total capacity of 2000 persons, 140 hotel rooms and the latest conference facilities.
